Absolut Brooklyn by Spike Lee

Absolut gets together with Spike Lee to design their latest limited edition vodka bottle – ABSOLUT Brooklyn. The bottle features a depiction of a brownstone with the number from Lee’s childhood home in Cobble Hill and bears his name on the bottle.

Each of the city editions of Absolut has a charitable initiative attached, as part of this campaign Absolut is donating $50,000 to Habitat for Humanity to help fund an affordable homes project in Bedford-Stuyvesant

Curious cufflinks by Samuel Gassmann

Samuel Gassmann is better known for being a curator and an art consultant. Fewer know that he is also a designer since last Autumn as he has launched a collection of cufflinks. Most of his collection comprises either a simple disc, ‘cabochon’ or button but what varies the most are the special materials, embellishments and colours.

For instance, the ‘Circumstance’ selection features rare materials — ivory, French jet or coral — discovered mostly at Paris flea markets such as porcelain cabochons made using original ancient fèves.

Remix of microphone as light fixture by Re-Surface

RE-SURFACE produces a range of hand-crafted lighting and interior décor objects with art at heart, and design in mind.

I just like their SOLO re-mix of the classic microphone as light fixture to create a nice atmosphere or to hang above a MetroFarm DJ table for reading disc labels.

Nixon X Gumball 3000 Watch

Now that the sun is settling, I can show my wrist more than ever… and I wouldn’t go out without a decent watch on.  My plan is to start with dark pieces and gradually move to colourful timekeepers. (according to my tan and if I can get one in London)

First in mind is the Nixon Gumball 3000 with a black Rubber Player featuring a custom gold caseback, crown and hands. It also features co-branded artwork on the case. Available exclusively at Nixon retailers along the rally route in London, Amsterdam, Boston, Montreal, Toronto and New York City beginning May 1st.

Andy Warhol’s Ferragamos

You can’t buy these shoes without knowing the story behind them. “But what’s with those specks of paint?”.

Salvatore Ferragamo (1898-1960) designed only one style for men in his lifetime. Andy Warhol owned a pair and, naturally, he painted in them. In 2006, the Ferragamo family bought those paint-specked Warhol shoes at an auction and authorized copies are available at the Ferragamo flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York.

Selima Hats

Each hat is hand blocked, then hand sewn in New York City in a discreet atelier below Selima’s Bond 07 shop on Bond Street. Promeyrat and her design team thoughtfully customize each hat with vintage and antique trimmings.

I am already fond of the ready-to-wear collection but you can also custom design your own hat. It can take between 2-3 weeks before you see the reveal of your special order.

Nike iD

Nike iD, in case you don’t know, is a service Nike’s been offering since 1999, where punters can use an interface on the website to select different colour and material combinations to customise their choice of sport shoe – which will then be made up as per their design and shipped to the customer.
